The attack on the Gothenburg synagogue aroused strong reactions - even beyond its borders.
The Jewish Central Council looks seriously at what has happened and writes in a statement that it should be self-evident that Swedes of Jewish descent feel safe and secure. They assume that politicians and police authority takes this situation seriously and ensures the necessary monitoring around the Jewish institutions in the whole of Sweden.
Prime Minister Stefan LÃ¶fven (S) says in a comment to the TT:
"I am terribly upset over the attack on the synagogue in Gothenburg yesterday and that it called for violence against Jews on a demonstration in MalmÃ¶. There is no place for anti-Semitism in our Swedish society. The perpetrators must be brought to account. All democratic forces must now work together for a tolerant and open society where all feel safe". (...)
Last Friday approximately 200 people gathered protesting against the Arab leaders and expressed the threat of violence against the Jews in MalmÃ¶.
Terrorist researcher Magnus Rans Rolfstorp twitters that he is furious and lack words.
